Every lesson has a clear purpose, and you'll get a written progress update every six weeks so you always know how things are going.

  1. 1
    Find the Gaps

The free lesson shows exactly which topics are secure and which are shaky, including things that should have been learnt years ago.

  2. 2
    Build Up Slowly

We fix the foundations first. Rushing ahead on weak basics is why so many students struggle at GCSE.

  3. 3
    Link to School

We work alongside what your child is doing at school, so lessons help with homework and tests too.

  4. 4
    Grow Confidence

Lots of small wins, explained in more than one way, until maths stops feeling scary.

The New School, the Big Dip and the "Fried Brain"

A Year 9 student started lessons with me in November 2024. She'd just changed schools, and the new school worked at a much higher level than she was used to. Her grades dipped sharply, and as her mum pointed out, it wasn't her fault.

We started by finding the exact gaps, then rebuilt them one topic at a time, explaining each idea in different ways until it clicked. If an answer was wrong, we worked out why together. No sighs, no rushing.

One honest lesson for me: our 90-minute sessions "fried her brain" at first, in her mum's words. So we switched to an hour, which worked much better for her. Every student is different, and the plan changes to fit them.

Since then, her confidence in maths has grown enormously.

“Our daughter's confidence towards Mathematics has increased greatly and definitely because of Ibrahim's ability to impart the knowledge.”Amanda M., her mum
What Parents Say

In Their Own Words

Unlike her mainstream school where the tutor would only give one way of explaining how to reach the correct answer, Ibrahim uses many varied ways of explaining how to get to that conclusion.
AAmanda M.Parent · Year 9
He explains concepts clearly, is very patient and honestly has really helped boost her confidence and understanding.
SSofia S.Parent
I've never heard a cross word or impatient tone, he never rushes her… Even if her answer is incorrect he's never said 'No, that's wrong!'

Questions

KS3 Maths: Frequently Asked Questions

My Child Is Only in Year 7. Isn't It Too Early for a Tutor?

Not at all. Year 7 is the best time to fix gaps, because each new topic builds on the last. A little support now saves a lot of stress at GCSE.

Will Lessons Follow What They Do at School?

Yes. We follow your child's school topics where it helps, and I always check homework and anything they're finding hard in class.

How Long Are KS3 Lessons?

Usually 90 minutes, but for younger students we often start with 60 minutes and build up. We'll agree what suits your child.
