From My Teaching

Calculus, Again, but Properly This Time

I currently teach calculus to a university student, and their story is a common one. A Level calculus went fine. Then university calculus arrived, faster, more abstract and with far less time spent on each idea.

We work from their own lecture notes and problem sheets, go back to the A Level ideas that were never fully secure, and then build up to the new material step by step.

Calculus was at the heart of my own astrophysics degree, so it's a topic I genuinely love teaching. Seeing it finally make sense to a student never gets old.
