A Clear Plan for Every Student
Every student I teach, from KS3 to A Level, gets a written plan built around their exam board, their target and the time until their exams. Here's what's inside, with two real examples.
Everything a Parent Needs to Know, in One Place
- The Plan at a GlanceThe stages of the year, the number of sessions and the key numbers on one page.
- Session-by-Session TopicsEvery lesson dated, with the topics we'll cover, basics first and harder topics later.
- Checkpoint Tests & MocksPlanned tests so we can see what's secure and adjust the plan if needed.
- Progress UpdatesA written update for parents every six weeks: what's covered, what's going well and what's next.
- Key Dates & ExamsSchool mock exams, my checkpoint tests and the real exam dates in one calendar, with reminders as they come up.
- How You Can Help at HomeDaily practice guidance, the equipment needed and simple ways to support your child.
A Clear Path from First Lesson to Final Exam
Here's how a typical GCSE year is structured. Every plan is adjusted to the student, their exam board and their target grade.
Build Every Topic Properly
We work through the whole course in a sensible order, fixing gaps from earlier years as we go.
Find and Fix Weak Spots
Every unit is revisited with timed questions, so nothing is forgotten before the exams.
Exam-Ready Confidence
Past papers, exam technique and timing, right up to the final paper.
What Happens in a 90-Minute Session
Lessons are usually 90 minutes and follow the same calm structure each time, so students know what to expect. 60-minute lessons follow the same pattern.
20 to 30 Minutes of Practice Every Day
Learning sticks when it is practised, not only taught. After lessons, students get a short, set booklet to work through on their own, so progress carries on between sessions. We go through it together at the next lesson.
- Short and RealisticAbout 20 to 30 minutes a day, with a plan at the start of each day showing every question and how long it should take.
- Made for Your ChildEach booklet is written for one student, on the topic we are working on, with a toolkit page, a worked example and hints.
- Easy for Parents to SeeAn "End of Day" box records the finish time, how confident your child felt and anything that was tricky, with a space for a parent's signature.
