The Dates That Matter Most
GCSE Maths, Summer 2027
AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR share the same three dates. All papers are 1 hour 30 minutes.

International GCSE Maths, Summer 2027
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A (4MA1). Both papers allow a calculator.

Cambridge IGCSE (0580): Cambridge sets its dates by region, so they depend on where your child sits the exam. Ask the school or exam centre for the June 2027 dates. Good to know: the Edexcel International GCSE timetable was not yet final in October 2026.
A Level Maths, Summer 2027
AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR A and OCR MEI. Three 2-hour papers, all in the afternoon.

AS Maths (a smaller, one-year qualification sat in Year 12): Thursday 13 May and Friday 21 May 2027 (afternoons). Further Maths (a second, harder maths A Level): papers run from mid-May to late June, depending on the board and the options your child takes. Check their statement of entry (the list of exams and dates the school sends). Words in the table: pure = algebra, graphs, trigonometry and calculus; mechanics = forces and motion; comprehension = reading a maths article and answering questions on it. OCR MEI is a second OCR A Level Maths course.
GCSE Maths November Resits, 2026
For students aged 16 or over. AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR. Results are released on Thursday 14 January 2027.

What Parents Should Know
- Entries close on 21 February 2027. This is the last day for schools to register students for the exams, including, for GCSE, the tier (Foundation or Higher). Talk to the school before then if you have questions.
- May half term usually falls between GCSE Paper 2 and Paper 3. It is one of the best revision weeks of the year.
- Wednesday 23 June 2027 is the spare "contingency day". It is only used if exams are disrupted nationally, so keep it free until then.
- Results are released from 8am on results day. Ask the school how and when your child can collect them.
- Asking for a paper to be re-marked: A Level students whose university place depends on a re-mark should ask the school by 19 August 2027. The final deadline for re-mark requests is 24 September 2027.
- Always check your child's own timetable. Schools sometimes adjust start times, and dates can very occasionally change.
